Principal Structural Engineer - Parsons International Limited

Technical / Technical Leadership
Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
Recommends and prepares technical papers.
May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
Be able to develop and check structural schemes including comparisons of alternatives and prepare concept design reports;
Be able to prepare and deliver presentations to Clients;
Be able to present and defend designs in front of Clients and obtain approvals.
Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
Be able to independently & objectively verify works produced by another design team.
Design / Project Management
Mentor, coach and develop staff and assist them to achieve their full potential.
Be able to lead sizeable design teams on large size projects.
Plan, direct, and supervise the work of a major engineering unit or project requiring a large-scale expenditure of manpower and financial investment.
Completes other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
May function as discipline Project Engineer on medium to large projects, assuming responsibility for the work of the group.
Manage production of designs by others and provides technical guidance to CAD Designers, Drafters, and lower level Engineers working on the same project.
Maintain good communication and cooperation with all project team members.
Understand and demonstrate value of diversity. Resolve conflicts with minimum noise.
Understand and respect the hierarchy in decision making; follow decisions and instructions given by Line Manager.
Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
Be able to manage sizeable multi discipline projects ensuring all designs produced by different disciplines are well coordinated.
Understand the importance of timeliness to internal and external clients. Achieve reliability and credibility in regard to meeting deadlines. Be punctual.
Maximize billable time commensurate with responsibilities.
Always keep commitments, particularly time and cost commitments. Acceptance of personal responsibilities.
Ensure that project / team delivery program and profit objectives are met. Assist with reporting, billing and monitoring of variations in a timely manner.
Coordinate the work of the project team with other engineering disciplines through liaison with other professionals. Monitor the work of staff allocated to specific group projects to ensure that technical competence and performance meet the requirements of allocated projects. Ensure that all projects are delivered on time and on budget.

Junior Landscape Architect - Parsons International Limited

POSITION OVERVIEW


Determines aesthetic design and practical technical solutions for the planning of external spaces including hardscapes, softscapes, Streetscapes etc. Works would cover urban planning, commercial buildings and spaces, residential projects, Industrial sites, Public open spaces and parks, Resorts, Hotels and leisure facilities etc.


 


Proficiency in providing complex technical solutions and preparing full technical packages from concept design, through Design development, Final Design to Tender and Contract documentation in coordination with Senior Team members.


 


Construction packages would include construction details for all built forms within the external works packages to be designed in coordination with the relevant engineers prior to contract documentation.


 


Hardscape detailing would include the design and specification all external finishes, level changes, walls, minor structures, drainage, water features etc.


 


Softscape detailing would include the design and specification of all plant materials, planting medium, preparation of the site, contours & grading and control of all horticultural practices for installation works.


 


The Landscape Architect would assist with supervising installation of the landscape contract works on site, and would report on site works, progress, changes etc. The landscape architect would assist in administration of the contract to ensure the works are carried out to the contract specifications and programme.


 


 


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES


 


Preparation, design and presentation of high quality landscape concept drawings.


 


Preparation of technical design packages through to tender.


 


Contract administration of projects.


 


Liaise with juniors and plan, program and delegate within the team structure.


 


Coordination with other relevant disciplines such as Engineers, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Architects.


 


Provide high level liaison with Clients and Client’s representatives.


 


Prepare contracts within budget requirements and provide accurate costing information to the client or quantity surveyors.


 


Develop maintenance plans for completed sites.


 


Maintain affiliations with professional societies to keep abreast of technologies.
