Application Technologist’s in Givaudan are specialists whose primary goal is to support customers by providing them with suitable flavours for their applications and guiding Flavourist’s in the flavour development process. To do so, Application Technologists analyse current flavour trends, forecast future trends, and assess consumer preferences and apply flavours to end applications.

We are currently expanding the T&WCA team and hiring a ‘Food/Application Technologist’ to focus on the Bakery, Dairy, and Confectionery categories for the Middle East region, which includes key markets in the GCC, Iran, and Pakistan. Reporting to the Taste & Wellbeing Technical Manager for the Middle East and based in our regional office in Dubai, you will be a key player in our T&WCA team. 

The role offers excellent opportunities for personal and professional development. This is a full-time role with us on an open contract for 1 year to start with and work 5 days a week. The contract could be extended later depending on our business requirement with a high potential to become a permanent role with us. 

You will mainly be responsible for evaluating and applying flavours in food applications for Bakery, Confectionery, and Dairy, including biscuits, crackers, cereals, fills, cheese, canned spreads, dairy drinks, yoghurt, ice cream, chilled desserts, chewing gum, chocolate etc., and selecting the optimal flavours for customer projects in the Middle East. You will contribute to our business growth by continuously demonstrating to our customers in the Middle East the use and benefits of our flavours in Bakery, Confectionery, and Dairy applications. You will proactively and reactively work on internal and customer briefs and develop bold ideas to help our customers bring consumer preferred and differentiating products to the market.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for:

Providing technical support for our customers - 

  • Responsible for all technical communications with customers in the Middle East region for Bakery, Confectionery, and Dairy applications to contribute to winning briefs and successful delivery of projects.
  • Develop concept presentations and present flavours and flavoured ready to eat products to customers.
  • Work with our customers to optimise their recipes.
  • Support our customers in trial productions of new recipes or implementing solutions from Givaudan.
  • Do customer visits, present ready-to-consume products or support customer trials.

Evaluation and selection of flavours - 

  • Apply and evaluate flavours for Bakery, Confectionery, and Dairy applications for relevant briefs.
  • Proactively monitor flavour performance and stability
  • Select optimal flavours for projects according to all relevant requirements (taste profile, legislation, technical suitability, costs, etc.).
  • Prepare state-of-the-art flavoured products and samples for customer presentations and capability demonstrations
  • Identify appropriate flavour delivery systems and technologies.
  • Translate market trends into new product concepts and developments.

Innovation - 

  • Support in developing and implementing new technologies by working with the broader teams and Innovation Centres within the region and the wider Givaudan.
  • Support marketing initiatives, train our commercial force and customers on our new capabilities.

Knowledge sharing and expertise - 

  • Serve as a technical expert and advisor for Bakery, Confectionery, and Dairy applications to the marketing, sales, flavour creation, and customers 
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with our key customers, and able to gain their trust and respect.

Maintain systems - 

  • Actively maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio by evaluating finished products and capturing profiles.

The role of Marketing Manager – Beauty & Cosmetics is to provide strategic and creative marketing approach and be accountable for all activities and performance of marketing including, Trade Marketing, Loyalty & CRM, Digital, Social Media, Creative and PR/Influencers.

Planning and Leadership:

  • Oversees marketing, social media, content, creative, PR, communications, CX, CRM, Loyalty Customer intelligence functions and is responsible for the creation of integrated marketing strategies that will build and grow the brand, leading to increased awareness, engagement, relevance and revenue.
  • Improves and optimizes the marketing department’s performance ensuring budgets are adequately spent on key initiatives with clear ROI metrics attached.
  • Monitors, measures, and analyses the effectiveness of strategies applied by each function which leads to the achievement of the relevant department’s goals and objectives to facilitate business targets.
  • Plays a leading role in the establishment of brand-building strategies across all channels. This will be done in collaboration with key stakeholders across the group
  • Responsible for running monthly/quarterly/annual reviews with key stakeholders within the business
  • Delivers key insights and recommendations that optimize the performance of the marketing department and marketing programs/campaigns and assists the marketing department in the achievement of its goals.
  • Manages and maintains program-specific research efforts inclusive of consumer insights, consumer segmentation, competitive intelligence, industry trends, and developments.
