Business Application Support Analyst - Ghassan Aboud Group

JOB PURPOSE:



The Application Support Analyst is responsible for IT application support activities including maintenance, administration, and first level support. He/She will work closely with the Service Desk to ensure timely and efficient resolution of IT application-related incidents and service requests. When requested by the System Analyst, the Application Support Analyst will support the process of impact assessing and planning IT application changes, and will then implement, test and monitor required changes in line with agreed change plans.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITY: 


Description of the Accountability
Support of the Application
 Resolve IT application-related incidents, service requests and problems in a timely and efficient manner in line with Business requirements
 Employ appropriate application maintenance, support and incident management processes and procedures to support and maintain IT applications, and to investigate and resolve IT application-related incidents.
 As required, provide timely communication to users on the status of their service requests and incidents.
 As necessary, liaise with IT suppliers to ensure IT application-related incidents and problems are resolved in a timely and professional manner.
 Undertake IT application-related problem diagnosis, implementing problem resolution or prevention measures as appropriate
 Regularly checks performance of supported applications.
 Maintain IT application support technical documentation.
 Ensure Technical Change Controls are developed, tested & released according to an agreed schedule and ensure all high business impact changes are escalated as appropriate
 Ensure all the Incidents and Service requests are addressed within the SLA.
 Regression and Unit testing
 Creation of test case scenarios of new developments made


Change
 Work with the Business/System Analysts to review and impact new business requirements.
 Contribute to technical aspects of key change documentation such as business requirements, change impact assessments, change implementation plans, change tickets, change roll-out plans etc.
 Implement, test and monitor required IT application changes in line with change implementation plans.
 Ensure IT application changes meet the agreed service acceptance criteria.


General
 Understand and comply with the IT organisation requirements, processes, procedures and policies.
 Share knowledge and expertise with others, coaching and supporting team members as required.
 Perform other duties as assigned by your line manager.
 Undertake knowledge management activities: identifying, controlling and storing any pertinent information, and maintaining knowledge items to ensure that they are current, relevant and valid.
 Be security conscious, ensure familiarity and co-operation with all GAG system security procedures.
 Carry out ad hoc duties as requested by appropriate managers within your department.

Assistant Resident Engineer (Water) - Parsons International Limited

The Assistant Resident Engineer (Civil / Sewerage) will assist the Resident Engineer in administering the operational functions of the day-to-day activities on the project with respect to utilities works. Will coordinate with various government departments, contractors, consultants and public to facilitate progress and avoid delays. He will also maintain logs of project progress, handing-over and final accounts. The Engineer at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of most construction / engineering theories and practices. To arrange progress meetings for various utilities with the service authorities representative, minute them and distribute the records as required.

Job Responsibilities

Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of water/civil works and associated items.
Act in place of the Resident Engineer when on leave or absent.
Chairs the meetings with the utilities agencies and any other meetings delegated by the Resident Engineer Utilities.
Coordinate his direct activities with the other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
Assist the Resident Engineer in reviewing of shop drawings, design proposals, method statements and other activities including correspondence related to the utility section and prepare replies for the review of the Resident Engineer.
Coordinate with Parsons' design engineers for resolution of related issues.
Maintain the daily diary and the daily reports by the inspectors.
Coordinate with the contractor engineers on scheduling and application of resources.
Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the inspectors and surveyors as applicable.
Convene and chair special meetings with the service authorties, the contractor, subcontractors and other parties related to his work.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.
Prepare / Assist in the preparation of Weekly and Monthly progress reports.
Act positively, and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Resident Engineer and the project safety representatives.
Provide all necessary on-site direction and assist the Resident Engineer to issue site instructions with respect to utilities works and associated items.
Check and measure the performed work in his line of work, record and assist the Resident Engineer to display progress vs. programmed work.
Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings within his line of work.

Senior Engineer - Storm Water & Drainage - Parsons International Limited

POSITION OVERVIEW:


Completes a wide variety of difficult engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses within the Storm Water Drainage Design discipline. The Engineer at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of most engineering theories and practices. All assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
Checks orthographic (2D) and isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others. May provide direction to a team of checking personnel, ensuring the mathematical accuracy of the drawings produced.
Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
Provides technical guidance including training to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
Shall carryout technical design reviews, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
Collaborates with Engineers and other engineering disciplines to ensure quality of design.
Performs interdisciplinary reviews and provides coordination of data to ensure a compatible design.
May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
Understands and applies commonly used company design standards and methods. May assist in the establishment or revision of guidelines and standards.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
