POSITION OVERVIEW


This project involves PMC services for design management and construction supervision of several infrastructure packages within Saadiyat Island and Sir Bani Yas Island.


The Senior Engineer - Landscape will be part of the shared services team and will be providing all necessary assistance concerning all landscape related works including design and Construction Supervision works under the guidance of the PMC Team Leader. The Engineer will be responsible for the review of landscape designs, managing the scheduling of all work activities for landscape Consultants and/or Contractors, review of all Landscape related documents submission, be able to monitor the work progress during the project construction period, participate and coordinate with the Consultant and/or Contractor to ensure a timely response to all submissions, inspections and other required actions, as well as to be able to assist in the administration of the contract to ensure the works are carried out to the contract specifications and programme.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES


• Review landscape technical design packages and provide comments.


• Prepare reports, manuals and guideline documents pertaining to specific landscape issues as required by the client.


• Provide support to the Construction Supervision team and as a PMC representative, oversee landscape construction services.


• Liaise with Landscape Design Consultants and Contractors.


• Coordinate with other relevant disciplines such as Engineers, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Architects etc.


• Attend weekly / monthly meetings as necessary with specific regard to landscape and HSSE issues


• Liaise with Key Stakeholders to ensure a smooth handover of landscape assets on completion of works


• Provide landscape input to weekly / monthly reports.


• Ensure the timely review of all documents submitted by the Consultant and/or Contractor.


• Inform the Landscape Design Architect and/or Team Leader of any potential delays in the project completion or milestones.


• Participate in all site safety training and comply with all site safety protocols.


• Provide all necessary on-site direction and assist the Construction Manager to issue site instructions for landscaping, irrigation and associated items.


• Check and measure the performed work in his/her line of work, record and help the Team Leader to display progress vs programmed work.


• Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘As-Built’ drawings within his/her line of work.

• Establish sustainable processes to ensure smooth functioning of the department and for delivering the maintenance plan.

• Ensure that the workshop is adequatley equipped with the right tools & equipment needed for maintenance.
• Calibration of key plant equipment & inline measuring devices involved in mechanical & automation feedback mechanism & loop control.
• To ensure safety of the feed by regular cleaning & preventing contaminations by identifying weak points in the system.



Productivity & quality deliverables:


• Demonstrate practical judgment in establishing job priorities for breakdown repairs.
• Ensure plant machinery is well maintained and operates according to design so that production quality is not jeopardized by machinery malfunctions.
• Assign and prioritize daily work list for maintenance staff (written, supervised and checked).
• Take necessary action to eliminate delays and ensure adherence to production and sales schedules.
• Troubleshoot technical problems and breakdown repairs.
• Meet with the Production Shift Supervisor on a daily basis to plan maintenance in accordance with production requirements.

• To create a proper vendor management plan & submit it to reduce the downtime for critical equipment.
• All allied support systems like the air compressor, bagging line and the boiler should have a specialist amc contract.

• Specialist contracts for critical assets should be budgeted and it should be renewed at the end of the contract.
• No dubious spares should be used which might create additional cost in the long run.
• All in-process measuring equipment to be calibrated at all times with third party certification to be available for audit.

The purpose of the Manager – Cleaning is to coordinate the service planning and delivery for the Cleaning Functional Area, integrating with other Event Operations Functional Areas, other business departments and external stakeholders.


The main responsibilities of this role will include:


- Responsible for early program planning through to Event delivery of the overall Cleaning & Waste Management (CWM) Functional Area Operating Plan (FAOP);


- Work with other business departments, such as Real Estate and Delivery (RE&D) and the Programme Management Consultant (PMC) to focus on an integrated planning approach;


- Develop the short term and medium term detailed plans for Cleaning Services, to include people, procurement, and budgeting and project management;


- Represents the division in matters related to Cleaning & field operations regarding safety and operational issues;


- Plan for the management of the occupational health and safety for the operational period and work with all stake holders internal and external;


- Work with the Overlay team to develop all plans for the cleaning of overlay, Look, way finding and signage;


- Develop and provide training and support to the new members of the CWM department;


 


- Review the Project Designs ensuring that all the requirements needed to deliver a smooth Soft Services operations will be captured and adapted on the project during the Expo.
