Cross Cultural Communications Specialist - Nawah

Assist in addressing the cultural dimensions of organizational life at Nawah and develop systems and practices to create a sustainable organizational culture. Provide support to all aspects of the other Organizational Effectiveness (OR) work streams as needed.


Cross Cultural Communications


  • Diagnose oral and written communication needs, and develop strategies for enhancing effective safety communications, particularly in the plant.

  • Assist in standardizing use of oral and written communication at Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) to enhance communications effectiveness.

  • Implement coping strategies and organizational process and practices to support multilingual users of English.

  • Conduct or pin benchmarking other multicultural/ multinational organizations to determine best practices for cross cultural communications.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to the Line Manager on cross cultural communications issues to improve organizational effectiveness.

Data Gathering and Diagnosis of the Organizational Culture


  • Provide administrative supportin liaising with functional leaders to gather information on the effect of a multicultural workforce on organizational effectiveness.

  • Conduct routine assessments of the organizational culture and provide interventions and solutions to enhance the culture across diverse groups, including departments, cultures, genders and ages.

  • Diagnose individual and collective responses to organizational life in order to better understand the cultural and intercultural dimensions at play.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to the Line Manager on cross cultural communications issues to improve organizational effectiveness and prepare for assessments conducted by the Nuclear Safety Review Board (NSRB), Committee on Nuclear Power (CNP) or other regulations entities.

Cross Cultural Understanding


  • Contributeand share learnings to enhance intercultural knowledge and understanding across the enterprise (Nawah, Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), and Barakah One Company (BOC)) to improve organizational effectiveness.

  • Assist in attaining the required facilities for events to foster greater cultural and intercultural awareness, as well as, interventions to support social mixing and building relations within Nawah.

  • Participate in designing and delivering formal and informal events to educate employees on cultural differences and similarities to include; organizing and facilitating multicultural, and multinational events, and managing and supporting internal campaigns which are related to multicultural, and multinational events.

Seconded Workers Mobilization ‘Readiness’


  • Implement a program in Korea pre-mobilization to develop cultural and language competencies, which includes Nuclear Safety Culture, Human Performance (HU) and Nuclear English Proficiency, as well as cultural understanding for Operations Support Services Agreement (OSSA) seconded workers.

  • Contribute to building relationships with Team Korea using cross-cultural expertise and plant observations to support alignment and collaboration on the Nawah Way and Effective Safety Communications at BNPP. 

Health and Safety and Security


  • Follow all relevant company’s Health and Safety policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure compliance in all aspects of work as per sound management practices. Apply these policies and procedures to self and others to ensure reasonable care of the health and safety of the employee; the environment; and various individuals who may be affected by the employee’s acts or omissions at work.

  • Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work, by applying them on self, others and Corporate assets.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate requirements for adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to Crisis Management and Business Continuity in order to continue mission critical activities.

People Management


  • Contribute to the development of UAE National employees in a manner which supports the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy.

  • Contribute to knowledge dissemination/sharing in a way that assists with building internal capabilities of UAE Nationals where applicable and maximize their effective performance.
