Provide Nuclear Procurement Engineering subject matter expertise and technical/general support, including but not limited to the performance of Nuclear Procurement Engineering Evaluations, Commercial Grade Dedications, and Item Equivalency Evaluations in support of plant Supply, Operations, Maintenance, Quality and Engineering departments. Execute special assignments in support of the continual improvement of the Barakah Nuclear Procurement Engineering and Supply System process.
Procurement Engineering
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Monitor and execute Nuclear Procurement Engineering evaluations for material and services to determine the safety class, technical and quality requirements for procurement, and storage requirements.
- Develop and assess the critical characteristics, verification method, and acceptance criteria for commercial grade dedication of commercial items for use in nuclear applications to ensure items meet nuclear criteria.
- Execute Item Equivalency Evaluations to evaluate alternate replacement items for obsolete plant components and parts.
- Execute shelf life evaluations for material in stock to assess items expired shelf life.
- Execute plant walk downs to identify plant components and obtain information needed to support accurate procurement.
- Create and monitor Component Bill of Materials to ensure procurement readiness.
Create cost savings by using technical expertise to identify technically equivalent alternate procurement strategies.
Quality Assurance
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Initiate and provide support for resolution of technical discrepancies identified during material receipt inspection to ensure operational excellence.
- Participate as technical expert in support of vendor audits and surveillances.
- Provide critical characteristics and technical criteria to QA department to support vendor audits and commercial grade surveys.
Oversee identification and disposition of counterfeit, fraudulent, and suspect items to ensure quality.
Procedure Adherence
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Validate effective implementation of Procurement Engineering procedures and processes to ensure adherence to standards.
Oversee review of procedures and update accordingly to ensure alignment.
Continuous Improvement
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Provide benchmarking of industry leaders to improve Procurement Engineering processes.
- Participate in and monitor self-assessments of Procurement Engineering processes and performance to ensure compliance with procedures and identify gaps to industry best practices.
Provide support for Procurement Engineering audits by internal and external QA organizations to ensure organizational excellence.
Training and Qualification
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Participate in and successfully complete all required initial and continuous training courses and requirements in order to attain and maintain the required qualification and certification in areas of specialization.
Lead and/or participate in internal performance improvement/lessons learned sessions within the Procurement Engineering group to enhance organizational performance.
