The Senior Design Manager for District 2020 will have the primary responsibilities:
Pre-EXPO:
Oversee the design of allocated project(s) in the development of the District 2020 planning, including transition and repurposing planning and engaging with consultants that will assist in the project .(e.g. Thematic District repurposing – Design consultant: Hopkins)
Post EXPO:
Manage the supervision of work onsite during the transition and repurposing and also to review third party design submissions as the commercial team release land inventory.
The SDM responsibilities also include supporting the Director - Architecture in all aspects of the design management of the projects from initiation to completion. Successful execution of these projects is required to achieve company financial targets.
Main responsibilities for this role include:
- Develop the briefs, scopes of work and other supporting documents to tender and award design consultant’s contracts;
- Participate in the selection, tender evaluation and award process to support the engagement pf qualified design consultants;
- Manage the design consultant team from onboarding and the development execution plans to the delivery of a fully coordinated design package for the allocated project or projects;
- Coordinate with other design management representatives across the programme, including project management, infrastructure, security, overlay, and others as appropriate to provide an integrated design solution;
- Provide day to day management and regular reporting on the progress of the design consultant team and sub consultants;
- Provide guidance to the overall programme on codes and standards, design strategies, and processes necessary to complete the projects;
- The Senior Design Manager will develop the design brief and scope of work to ensure the design consultant(s) are delivering to the client requirements. When necessary the SDM will develop the requirements and assist in the processing of the change requests, RFI’s and instructions to the consultants;
- Provide regular written reports on the project status;
- Attend and lead regular coordination meetings and special meetings as required;
- Facilitate the technical review of all design submissions of the designs for the allocated project(s) and complete a review of related consultant submittals;
