Solar Operations & Maintenance Engineer / Manager - AMANA

Responsible for oversight of O&M projects to ensure optimal system performance:



  • Manages the operation of solar PV plants to maximize performance, ensures it is done in a safe, reliable and efficient manner.

  • Day to day online plants performance monitoring, analyzing recorded data, identifying and handling incidents that impact optimal power generation or general project functionality.

  • Plans, directs and coordinates activities of O&M projects to ensure that goals/objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and budget parameters.

  • Ensures AMANA standards are in line with international Solar Power guidelines and continuously updates procedures as required.

  • Primary point of contact for customers and vendors of O&M projects.

  • Manages and/or conducts solar plant energy audits, PR calculations, plant data, module degradation studies and other studies as needed.

  • Schedules and ensures timely execution of all O&M activities including cleaning, preventive and predictive maintenance for operational projects.

  • Records, analyses and reports all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.

  • Generates daily, weekly, and monthly reports to customers and to company.

  • Identifies and classifies problems and develops corrective and preventive (for reoccurring issues) action plans ensuring tickets are closed within a reasonable time frame.

  • Ensures that all O&M activities performed at project sites comply with manufacturer requirements and warranties.

  • Prepares, reviews and updates the O&M and safety manuals for existing and new projects.

  • Responds to emergency calls

  • Manages subcontractors’ customer service, relationships, contracts, etc.

  • Manages project handovers between EPC and O&M teams.

  • Interfaces with external parties such as public authorities, grid operators, customers, and others.

  • Manages & optimizes the spare parts inventory at a project and fleet level. 

  • Contract management of all O&M contracts and associated warranties and guarantees.

  • Review all production reports, incident reports, maintenance logs and spare parts inventory reports provided by O&M (sub) contractors.

  • Provides suggestions to improve the methodology for optimal panel cleaning strategies.

  • Assists the Construction & Design teams in optimizing the system design for improved performance and reduced maintenance costs.

  • Assists in the due diligence process for new projects, in helping to review and assess contractual obligations, energy output, system availability, degradation, performance guarantees and O&M budgets.

  • Assists in the on-boarding of new projects to ensure proper maintenance at all times.

  • Supports in the budget planning process and ensures adherence to the approved budget.

  • Day-to-day management of team members, scheduling work, monitoring employee performance and providing advise and coaching whenever needed.

  • Assists in conducting technical training for the O&M team.
