Business Development Manager

Looking for a Candidate from Restaurant Chain Business 


ROLE


Support CEO in developing group strategy
Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities for expansion of geographical footprint or new business ventures in line with group strategy
Stress test and acts as a sounding board for new business proposals/ideas from business divisions and evaluate associated risks
Assess all risks associated with new business areas and recommend risk mitigating actions


RESPONSIBILITIES


• New business ventures
Keep abreast with market and competitors and provide research insights on business expansion opportunities to the CEO (beyond existing business lines)
Uncover potential business opportunities in line with the group strategy
Develop business plan and analyse market entry strategy, potential, financials and associated risks to assess the feasibility of the investment
Develop operating plan for the proposed investment, and lead the pilot project for market entry
• Expansion of existing businesses
Evaluate expansion proposals (new and expansion of existing brands) by business VPs and conduct stress-testing and scenario analyses to assess viability and profitability
Evaluate proposals by different business units to resolve internal priorities, ensure optimal capital allocation and highest return on investment
Assist business heads in creating business plans for new ventures and lead pilot projects for market entry
• Risk Management
Assess all risks associated with new business areas, and conduct stress-testing and scenario analyses to measure potential adverse impact
Recommend risk mitigating actions while ensuring the goals are met
• Lead the transformation in the office
Lead implementation of transformation changes across the Group (new organization structure and delegations, streamlined communications, improved processes, etc.)
Work closely with business heads to ensure the case for change is clear and that changes are cascaded down through their divisions
Surface any issues that arise and work with relevant individuals to de-bottleneck these
Report to the CEO and Board on progress
Ensure that changes are communicated through the organization on a regular basis to create clarity and
boost morale


PROFILE


• Skill set
Sharp business acumen
Ability to quickly grasp and analyse different businesses
Good problem solving skills
Understanding of practical challenges in setting-up new businesses and expansion
Attention to detail
Need to be solution oriented
• Experience
5+ years of experience in business development role with a successful track record to setting up new business division
Experience in retail and F&B is preferred
• Education
University degree
MBA is preferred


KPIs


Return on investment on new capital invested
Revenue of new growth areas (outside of existing divisions)
