Head Of Academic Accreditation Unit - Al Raee Recruitment Services

Purpose of the Job:
The Head of the Academic Accreditation Unit is responsible for ensuring that the college and its programs maintain their existing licensure and accreditation status, while supporting excellent external relationships with all relevant agencies. The HAAU also plays a critical role in new program development, ensuring that all new applications are of the highest quality and accuracy to achieve licensure and/or accreditation as promptly as possible. The incumbent coordinates closely with the Director of Quality Assurance, KIC Provost, academic department heads, and other relevant faculty, staff, and managers to achieve the greatest possible results related to all licensure and accreditation activities.


Duties and Responsibilities:


 
• Manages local and international accreditation processes at institutional and program levels.
• Establishes and communicates guidelines for the development, accreditation and monitoring of academic programs.
• Manages communications and processes with accrediting agencies and disseminates accreditation review to all stakeholders.
• Reviews and writes analyses of institutional applications for licensure against the relevant Standards for Licensure and Accreditation.
• Reviews and writes analyses of academic programs for accreditation against the Standards for Licensure and Accreditation.
• Coordinates with institutional heads, faculty, and other staff on various issues related to licensure and accreditation.
• Mentors internal stakeholders to ensure quality processes, procedures and policies for institutional effectiveness.
• Develops an awareness of, and respect for, the customs and cultures of higher education institutions in the UAE.


Job Specification


Qualification
• Master's degree from an accredited university relevant to position is required, Ph.D degree is preferred.
Candidates with additional QA certification and/or project management certification preferred.


Experience:
A minimum of 8 years of related work experience with at least 5 years spent in a supervisory/leadership role within an accredited higher education institution or an Accreditation Agency
• Experience in accreditation systems at the college level.
• Specialized expertise in quality management, institutional research, strategic planning, business process re-engineering, and/or quantitative methods
• Strong understanding of the application of statistical measurement tools within higher education
• Previous exposure to full cycle accreditation processes and assessments with any accrediting body
• Experience directing research and statistical studies on accreditation and institutional effectiveness issues desired
• A high degree of computer literacy and demonstrated ability to integrate technology into the learning environment and teaching methodology
• Superior interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to form professional relationships at all levels within the organization and with appropriate external stakeholders
• Highly developed organizational, communication and presentation skills
• Strong management or leadership skills as exhibited by experience in effectively leading a team and/or chairing committees
• Overseas work experience within a multi-cultural environment would be advantageous


Languages:
• Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is a plus
