An experienced insurance solicitor/ lawyer is required as general counsel for our insurance sector client based in Dubai.
Role Overview
This In-House Counsel position is working as a general legal counsel for a specialist insurance underwiting group. As General Counsel you will have to deal with a variety of legal issues, but a majority of the work is related to advising on coverage issues and reviewing/preparing policy wording and endorsements.
Candidate Profile
The firm is seeking a qualified lawyer, solicitor or barrister with the following experience/characteristics:
Minimum 5 years pqe with strong experience in policy wordings and coverage work either in-house or in private practiceTeam player who is able to work in a co-operative environment and engage effectively with others.Strong analytical and decision-making ability with sound judgement and decision making. Ability to provide commer cially focused solutions to the business on a daily basis.An adaptable lawyer who is able to advise on a wide variety of areas of law.

On offer with this opportunity is the chance to be a key advisor to the business. You will have direct access with underwriters, claims managers and those in other business areas (including the Actuarial, Compliance, Delegated Authority, Finance, Human Resources and IT Departments) on a daily basis.
Whilst primarily a role advising on wordings and coverage you will also be called upon to act as a general counsel advising on a range of commercial matters, but with a network which will provide the support to do so.
