Director- Programming & Outreach

Job Purpose:

  • The role holder is responsible for overseeing and directing all operational activities aligned to the strategic plans and priorities for driving programming and destination management initiatives at the commercial destination.
  • This includes overseeing the activation & digital functions for the commercial destination, ensuring ongoing positive perception of the brand and its offering to diverse stakeholder audiences, stimulate lead generation opportunities and grow relationships with influential entities in both the public and private sectors.


Key Accountabilities:


Strategy:

  • Lead the execution of the business and annual operational plans for Programming & Destination Management to accomplish the structured delivery of the plans and to enable the achievement of agreed business objectives.
  • Develop and streamline processes and systems relating to Programming & Destination Management operations through the effective implementation of business plans/ policies for assigned entity in order to generate maximum revenue in the most cost-effective manner and ensure operational excellence aligned with overall cluster goals.


Place Management:

  • Lead and direct the implementation of the commercial destination’s 'Place management' strategy and sponsored events that includes more vibrant, attractive, safer, cleaner and well managed places to users for enhanced economic and business activity.
  • Oversee the place management efforts in the commercial destination, and work closely with stakeholders around these areas to make it a premier, live-work-play environment — desirable for new investments, visitors and locals.
  • Work with other public agencies to implement place management initiatives in key precincts in the commercial destination by introducing and promoting programmes and activities that encourage more visitors to the precincts.

Marketing & Events:

  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, evaluating and executing events held at the commercial destination and ensuring the selection of events strategically support in driving footfall, positive exposure and support in establishing the credibility of the commercial destination as a key destination and business partner. 
  • Responsible for driving revenue at key strategic event initiatives sponsored by the commercial destination. 
  • Establish and maintain local relationships by actively promoting the commercial destination’s position within the community.
  • Explore, create and manage Event spaces throughout the commercial destination, which will activate and produce positive results for our business partners.

Programming Outreach

  • Lead the strategy, execution, and implementation of all cross-channel digital mediums, including the website, SEO/ SEM, marketing database, email, online advertising and social media, on site mediums ensuring the effective delivery.
  • Assess and track the impact of the commercial destination’s digital presence and supply comprehensive reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, using a combination of measurement tools and analytics relevant to each digital channel.

People Management:

  • Provide leadership in the management of the Programming & Destination Management team
