For the right candidate, this is an excellent opportunity to join the team of a well established global manufacturing company. This key role will be responsible to lead the technical services effort in the EMEA for the company's Engineered Solutions markets. Technical service activities including support for existing products and supporting the NPD process and launch of new products. Specific emphasis will be placed on providing technical leadership of the company’s products and technologies into markets including but not limited to paints, coatings, rubber, plastics, adhesives, wire/cable and more. The position is home-based so the sales professional can reside anywhere in the EMEA within proximity to an international airport.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Provides current and prospective customers with application development support and guidance regarding the proper use of the company’s products.
- Provides technical leadership and resolution of customer and distributor complaints.
- Avoids potential technical problems of existing products by being pro-active and openly communicating with customers and internal team members.
- Makes technical presentations for paint, coatings, ink, adhesive, rubber and plastic applications to distributors, customers, conferences and trade shows.
- Works with team members to commercialize new products in support of NPD Program.
- Provides technical training to team members, distributors, and customers regarding proper application and use of company products.
- Works with the commercial leader and team to develop new applications for existing products.
- Acts as the leading “applications problem solutions provider” for the customer base works to design technical service/customer-specific laboratory studies.
- Accountable for managing and continuously improving product support timelines and the launch of new products/solutions.
- Guides the company's lab regarding customer-specific applications.
- Guides the Director, Global Engineered Solutions and others on customer needs and potential new product solutions.
- Ensures that the company’s Engineered Solutions products are properly championed and that world-class applications expertise is provided by:
- providing direction and technical expertise concerning product and process fitness-for-use criteria.
- collaborating with marketing and research to develop opportunities, applications, and product concepts for currently served or new markets.
- Contributes to the commercialization process by working with the companies teams to provide high-quality data-driven sales tools such as presentations, papers, technical bulletins, and technical magazine articles.
- Participates in industry symposia, authoring or co-authoring papers and patents.
