The Role:
The candidate will be required to lead the energy editorial team to create content including in-depth analysis - features, breaking news and digital media such as videos focused on the Middle East. The candidate will analyze data and collaborate with the current Al Arabiya network, as well as help develop an additional network of stringers and market reporters to create unique, informative, engaging and insightful content. The candidate will also be responsible to assign reporters and correspondents to relevant stories, create an events schedule and establish a database of credible sources.

Team collaboration:
The editorial team works closely together in a fast-paced environment. You will report to the editor-in-chief and work closely with different editorial and production departments.
Content Development:
As an energy editor, you will ensure that Middle East news is timely, unique and relevant. You will be responsible for creating content and presenting it in a way that has maximum impact. You will help conduct forward planning of events and story coverage.
Content Presentation:
You will be required to think innovatively on how best to present the content to make it impactful and reader friendly. This could involve the use of infographics, charts, tables etc.
Content Generation:
You will be required to collaborate with the Al Arabiya network, Al Arabiya.net English correspondents, and regional stringers, as well as other members of the news, production, and social media teams to generate and drive content. This could be in the form of analysis of developing news and writing features and opinions.
News development:
Continuously evaluate editorial content, determine what has relevance to readers and develop value-added news - information. Analyze market issues and look for news and enterprise story opportunities. Develop and maintain productive relationships with a broad base of key industry sources.
