The purpose of the Vice President Tactical is to lead the Tactical function of the Contracts department. This includes input during the tendering phase to support the Procurement team and a final review of draft contracts together with all elements of post contract administration. The key areas of the latter being: payments, change management, contractual issues such as claims and commercial closure/final accounts.
Main responsibilities for this role include:
- Give strategic and operational direction to the Tactical function of the Contracts department;
- Ensure the continuation of robust contract administration processes for all departments;
- Provide guidance and direction to the business and the Contracts department in areas of industry best practice and governance;
- A proven ability to manage very tight schedule across diverse functional departments and introducing time saving measures wherever appropriate whilst mitigating risk;
- Ensure transparency and proper governance are adhered to at all times;
- Establish new relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure adequate resources for all projects and to continually improve pricing and quality of work;
- Develop and maintain close, positive working relationships with departments whilst maintaining a professional independence in the administration of contracts;
- Adherence to departmental KPIs;
- Lead the division responsibly and proficiently, providing effective line management to direct reports;
- Set objectives and evaluate performance of individual direct reports and actively manage key personnel issues;
- Ensure that all staff acquire the required skills and knowledge through appropriate learning and development programs;
- Provide visible leadership to the division and across the organization to key stakeholders;
