The purpose of ‘Scheduling & Delivery Manager’ is to support the Distribution Manager and the Distribution team with scheduling, routing, the logistics distribution systems operational across the Event, and provide an interface for all Distribution workstream related activities for integrated with internal and external stakeholder.
The main responsibilities of this role will include:
- Support the Logistics Distribution workstream in operating seamlessly with contracts, employee development and training, systems development, communication tools and general project management methodologies;
- Support the other Logistics workstreams (i.e. Customs & Freight Forwarding, Material Management, Warehousing, Distribution, Venue Logistics, and Programme Management) with their requirements for an efficient and economical end-to-end Logistics operation;
- Support in the development of short-term goals and objectives for the Logistics Distribution workstream and agree this with the Distribution Manager and Senior Manager;
- Lead on the continual improvement of Expo 2020 Logistics Distribution processes, policies and procedures;
- Manage directly in process of design, implementation and management for the identification, receipt, storage, recovery and disposal of goods;
- Responsible for weekly and daily design of routes, synchronised delivery timetables, capacity needs and special handling instructions;
-Ensure Delivery Management System (DMS) bookings are aligned with the Logistics’ Function’s operational needs;
- Examines exception reports, failures and delays, with reports and implementation of improved processes for planning and scheduling;
- Support invoice and shipment tracking and reconciliation;
- Administration and correction of scheduling and delivery planning.
- Design scheduling and delivery for non-routine routes, update and communicating changes proactively;.
