Purpose:
IRM relates to the function at the Unit level and permeate to all business assets held by the Unit. In this Policy Manual, the term Investment Management Function is used as a flexible descriptor for the activities involved in the overseeing of an asset, and the term Investment Manager to those individuals either individually or collectively as a group who are involved significantly in asset management activities.
The purpose of this role is to provide resources and expertise to support the acquisition/development, in-service support including but not limited to planning, reporting and other analysis to ensure the asset/project is tracking to original business case and other time related annual/5-year budgets, value creation initiatives and potential disposal to realize monetization of the asset. A central IRM function at the Unit level provides inputs to asset/portfolio planning, taking a role in new acquisitions and developments and provides support to assets throughout their life. IRM is distinct from actual operations, which is the primary responsibility of the management team at the asset level.
