Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Responsible for realizing technical elements of creative projects while working with approved budgets;
- Responsible for anticipating forecast for productions throughout the tender process;
- Work alongside Al Wasl Plaza Creative team and all productions to develop and deliver the technical aspects for Al Wasl Plaza;
- Manage, Oversee and report on all the technical systems and the physical build of all staging, scenic and prop items;
- Consult with the Creative team on design development and implementation and build of design elements for ceremonies and Al Wasl Plaza programing;
- Monitor the ceremonies Technical division budget and monitor, manage and report on the budget for the duration of the project;
- Manage Al Wasl Plaza Technical division staff in the delivery of their duties. Including but not limited to assigning work, monitoring performance, rewarding disciplining and overall employee engagement;
- Supervise all administrative areas of Al Wasl Plaza Technical Division as directed by the Senior VP;
- Identify and monitor all resource requirements for Al Wasl Plaza;
- Be knowledgeable about Expo 2020 divisional obligations and responsibilities for the provision of services to Al Wasl Plaza function;
- Ensure technical integration with other divisions and Expo 2020 function;
- Manage the production and assembly of all technical schedules and documentation for Al Wasl Plaza;
- Oversee all Al Wasl Plaza technical division communication channels, reporting protocols and responsibilities;
- Assemble all technical design documentation, information and schedules required for the creation of all Technical division contracts for the supply, installation and operation of technical elements for Al Wasl Plaza;
- Manage all Technical team contractors and suppliers in the delivery of their services;
- Oversee the technical staffing, set up and commissioning for technical rehearsals, performer rehearsals, and Al Wasl Plaza program;
- Assist and contribute to budgeting, cost checking and scheduling related to the activities of the staging department;
- Responsible for reviewing, managing and monitoring visiting productions working collaboratively with the in–house technical and operations team;
- Create and adhere to risk management strategies in relation to the delivery of all division responsibilities;
- Create and adhere to all occupational health and safety strategies in relation to the delivery of all division responsibilities. Ensure staff and contractors are aware and abide by occupational health and safety requirements;
- Comply and respond to Expo 2020 Procedural, administrational, and operational guidelines and instructions;
- Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organization;
- Proactively support, and ensure that the Technical division support Expo 2022 sustainable sourcing code and the sustainability guidelines.
