The PMO Protocol Senior Manager will be responsible for a number of secretariat duties including for the Joint Protocol Unit – consisting of external protocol stakeholders in supporting expo 2020. This secretariat role will assist developing the internal and external protocol strategies and organization of the department to support Protocol Guest Group requirements prior to and during the Expo 2020 Dubai.
This role is also responsible for protocol staff (including protocol volunteers) training delivery programs and event time scheduling and rostering for protocol staff across the expo site (paid and volunteer staff).
Main responsibilities of the role Include:
- Support and provide secretariat assistance to Joint Protocol Unit stakeholders – which includes all emirates protocol entities;
- Develop protocol service training strategies for implementation in respect of the needs of the Protocol Guest group, including protocol volunteers prior to and at event time;
- Manage the interface between all Protocol Guest Group bodies and the accreditation program’s registration process;
- Oversee the delivery processes of the Expo 2020 Gift program – procurement, storage and delivery;
- General organization and coordination of protocol requirements at official ceremonies and visits of international and domestic dignitaries prior to and during the expo 2020 event;
- Coordination with Head of Protocol Secretariat on advisory services for Expo 2020 Dubai leadership in respect of ceremonial and protocol related matters;
- Develop appropriate protocol policies and procedures in respect of event/visit planning and implementation;
- Under the management of Head of Protocol Secretariat, lead the secretariat team responsibly and proficiently, providing effective line management to direct reports.
