The Manager, Media Services will be part of the Media Operations team responsible for planning and delivering all media facilities and services required for accredited media covering Expo 2020, and specifically, the services that media require assistance with.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- The Media accreditation process;
- Visa and licencing liaison;
- Media Publications;
- Media Information System management including content generation;
- Media transport, travel & parking liaison;
- Media Operations city planning liaison;
- Customs and Freight Forwarding liaison;
- Media ticketing management;
- Media Rate Card management;
- Pre-Event media information provision
The Manager, Media Services will:
- Assist in the recruitment, training and motivation of a team of paid and volunteer staff to support the Media Services operation;
- Be responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the Media Information System;
- Manage the preparation (or review existing) procedural frameworks for Media Services including procedures, processes, guidelines and responsibilities;
- Development and maintenance of Information Technology systems scoped for the delivery of Media Services;
- Liaise and coordinate with Expo 2020 departments to ensure a collaborative and unified approach to deliver exceptional services to the Media;
- Oversee the Media Services communication plan as directed by the Senior Manager and ensure effective delivery by engaging with media organisations in the lead up to Expo 2020;
- Monitor and respond to media queries on a day to day basis, ensuring service levels and excellence in guest experience are met by providing quality information in a timely manner, escalating queries to the Senior Manager when appropriate;
- Manage the planning and delivery of pre-Event media briefings and meetings;
- Provide weekly reports and regular updates as necessary to senior management on accreditation progress and media queries;
- Experience in building quality working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders/clients is critical.
