Media Operations, a department within Communications, is responsible for providing all the services and facilities the accredited media need to do their jobs, both when on the Expo site and when working remotely. This includes all the planning and preparation in advance of the Event.
Reporting to the Head of Press Operations, the Senior Manager, Expo Media Centre will be responsible for planning, delivering and management of the Expo Media Centre facilities and all the associated.
This position will be part of the key management team responsible for delivering all aspects of the Media Operations for Expo 2020.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Liaison with the appointed fit out designer on the design and fit out of the EMC, ensuring a world-class media facility that is fit for purpose is delivered;
- Manage the planning for the operations inside the EMC across functional and venue planning;
- Plan media activities throughout the site, including detailed planning of activities in more than 190 country pavilions;
- Deliver the strategy for information provision within the EMC
- Prepare procedural framework for EMC operations including policies, processes, guidelines and responsibilities;
- Ensure service levels and excellence in guest experience are delivered to all attending media throughout their Expo 2020 journey
- Set objectives and evaluate performance of individual direct reports and actively manage key personnel issues;
- Ensure that all staff acquire the required skills and knowledge through appropriate learning and development programmes.
