Performs complex electrical and lighting engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Shall be proficient in preparing Electrical HV, LV Designs, Lighting Designs for Indoor, Outdoor applications using Dialux, and AGI32 software.
Shall be experienced in Power cable sizing calculations using software such as Amtech.
Shall be experienced in carrying out electrical Load analysis and Short circuit calculations using ETAP software, Cable derating calculations using Cymcap / Similar software.
Shall have experience in the ELV Systems such as CCTV, Access Control, Parking Management, BMS, SCADA.
Shall have experience of designing Fire alarm and Life safety systems.
Shall have experience of preparing detailed technical, commercial and Life Cycle Cost Analysis of various technical alternatives and presenting them in a report and making presentations to the Clients.
Shall be fully conversant with the IEC, IEEE as well as DEWA regulations for the electrical designs.
Shall have experience of liaising with DEWA for obtaining Load NOCs, LV Design Approvals, HV Design Approvals, as well as complete project Load estimations for large development projects involving 132 KV Primary Substations, 11 KV Substations, etc.
Approval from DM / RTA would be added advantage.
