The Manager - Business Events (MICE) role is to support the marketing, promotion and sales of a world-class portfolio of business events (MICE), inter alia in the Expo 2020 Convention and Exhibition venue. The role is commercially focused with a strong emphasis on lead generation, relationship marketing and sales to 3rd party event and exhibition organisers, MICE portfolio managers, corporates, the public sector, etc.
Main responsibilities for this role include:
- Qualify potential accounts and develop relations with key contacts in trade;
- Continuously source new business opportunities through research of local and international markets;
- Build a solid relationship and network with key members of the travel trade, MICE end-users, tourism authorities, and other key stakeholders – leveraging existing networks;
- Produce and implement an account development plan for each managed account to achieve targets for MICE events and business visitors;
- Attend trade shows, key client events, FAM trips and sales trips to promote Expo venues to potential clients;
- Meet monthly activity targets through Sales Calls, Site Inspections and other market outreach activities;
- Gather market intelligence and feedback to commercial leadership to help setting strategic direction and executing commercial plan;
- Follow the most current meeting and event trends and share with commercial and operation teams to improve venue and service offerings;
- Preparation and management of bespoke pitches and bid documentation;
- Be responsible for leads management and commercial negotiations through to contracting;
- Continuously seek and secure marketing opportunities to drive sales with trade partners;
- Regular monitoring and reporting against milestones;
- Liaise with Marketing, Digital and Communications teams to organize event marketing, promotion, publicity, sales related campaigns;
