Summary of Functions:
Corporate sales position responsible for building and managing all phases of a sponsorship programme for one of the largest rugby events worldwide. This involves responsibility for developing and maintaining a sales plan for the sponsorship programme, in order to meet or exceed the overall business objectives of the tournament. Responsibilities include sponsor prospecting, proposal customisation and presentation, contract revision and servicing, and sponsor follow-up and support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct sponsorship research and the development of sales collateral.
- Develop and implement a sponsorship sales plan for increasing revenues in a cost effective manner.
- Target objectives to include increasing sponsorship sales and creating sponsorship products and licensing deals in order to meet or exceed the overall business objectives
- Identify and deliver partner commercial programmes, including branding and advertising opportunities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Sponsors, business and community partners
- Develop and implement, alongside marketing management an annual sponsorship workshop or other special events to assist in achieving the business objectives.
- Develop, implement and maintain sponsorship programme guidelines to increase sponsorship recruitment, satisfaction and support.
- Interface with management to create and support online marketing programmes to ensure a steady stream of prospects and future sales
- Submit sales plans, prospect activity, forecast reports and provide briefing as necessary or as required, to department and tournament management.
- Manage data, maintain statistics, support web site maintenance and manage sponsorship budget.
- Organise and administer alongside commercial site management the delivery of all sponsorship activities.
- Be closely involved with the tournament marketing programme to generate and support content for the tournament web site and media programmes.
