The Director of Communications and Media Relations supports Expo 2020 Dubai in communicating its vision, mission and business plans by providing senior-level support in the development and implementation of local and global media relations. The Director of Communications and Media relations will work collaboratively with the wider Communications team to ensure seamless integration with the overall department plans, programmes and campaigns aimed to generate greater awareness, understanding and support for Expo 2020 Dubai and its mission.
The main responsibilities of this role will include:
- Help to implement communication strategies for internal stakeholders and their departments with an emphasis on the organisation’s mission, leadership and programme offerings; while supporting brand-building strategies through effective communications programming that ultimately feeds into the reputation of the organisation and project;
- Help develop and be responsible for the implementation of public relations strategies that generate greater awareness and support for Expo 2020 Dubai;
- Part of the team responsible to deliver the Expo 2020 Dubai spokespersons manual and programme; assist in developing and implementing communications programmes and internal media training;
- Part of the team that proactively manages the public responses of designated spokespersons from Expo 2020 Dubai e.g. Higher Preparatory Committee and Director General;
- Represent Expo 2020 Dubai as a leading media spokesperson on all issues related to the World Expo;
- Direct and serve as a lead of the Communications and Media Relations Team in protecting and promoting Expo 2020 reputation and support of Expo 2020 at major international, regional and local events;
- Help coordinate with UAE government agencies to ensure Expo 2020 messaging are appropriately aligned.
