ICU Physician Specialist -Zayed Military Hospital - Global Human Resources LLC

Admits, evaluates, assists patients and decide whether they need ICU admission or not
- Plays a major role in transferring patients from hospital to hospital or abroad
- Accompanies patients while they are carrying out an investigative procedure such as CT scan
- Teaching Medical students and junior doctors, researching and auditing
- Performs in-patients and out-patient duties
- Must be able to accompany a patient abroad if needed by permission and request of the medical board or assist patients in other hospitals as well as providing them with medical reports.
- Teaches and supervises junior staff in the ICU
- Observes junior staff during procedures
- Performs rounds seeing patients with the departmental team which includes residents; guiding them and teaching them simultaneously.
- Must be able to write transfer notes to other wards in the hospital
- Participates in on-call schedule for the ICU An ICU specialist must always be willing and ready to carry out big decisions regarding the transfer and management of crucially care patients to and from the hospital. The role of a specialist in the ICU is similar to that of a consultant however; they are not expected to practice procedures unless they have been granted certain privileges. Specialists are allowed to admit patients and decide whether they are in need of intensive care. They must be involved in in-patient and out-patient duties and patient care. They are responsible for junior staff, clinic duties and must also write reports and transfer notes.
