Job purpose:
Global Village is part of The Arab Media Group (AMG). It is the region’s leading family and cultural entertainment destination, which is committed to providing the best in entertainment and excellence in guest experience.
The person will be responsible for data analytics across the whole of Global Village. It is essential you can demonstrate strong business understanding and communication skills.
You will partner with departments to work on our core delivery business. Since the Data Science / Business Intelligence element is just forming, you will have an opportunity to shape and form our data science story. Your primary goal is to help drive informed business, product and operational decisions at Global Village using your ability to turn data into insights and understanding.
You should have extensive technical and mathematical / statistical knowledge, and a proven track-record of using data science to formulate and present the answers to business questions. You will therefore need to be as comfortable communicating the insights to senior business users as discovering the insights from the data
Key Accountabilities
• Collating data, manipulating and presenting data output in a structured manner
• Providing sustainable results on time and with accuracy on topics like PnL, KPIs, product cost to senior stakeholders
• Providing recommendations and insight from data collected and presenting these through the use of visualisation tools
• Excellent analytic and modeling skills: to analyze a problem to gain actionable understanding
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, as you will be working with Project Managers, Operations, Commercial, Corporate Functions and CxOs, helping them understand their domain and help set goals for them
- Cross-team communication skills.
• You'll need to understand the product implications of data and be able to convey uncertainties and caveats with the data
• Willingness to build simple pipelines, metrics and dashboards to support your own work to get to the desired insight and understanding
- SQL is your second language
- Good-enough coding skills in a language useful in this setting, eg. Python
- Interest in analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning
