Manager, Research Programs - Dubai Healthcare City Authority

 In consultation with the Director-Strategy & Programs:


Program Management:      


  • Spearheads planning, design, launch and delivery of Research Programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization.

  • Leads the evaluation of Programs by monitoring activities on a regular basis in support of optimum utilization of approved grants and Programs’ effectiveness.

  • Reports evaluation findings to the Scientific Advisory  Committee (SAC) and recommends changes to enhance the Programs, as appropriate.

  • Leads risk assessment of Programs to identify and evaluate risks associated with Program activities and takes appropriate action(s) to mitigate the risks, as approved.

  • Spearheads Program documentation, including development of forms, checklists, templates and workflow, to track and document end-to-end Program activities.

  • Ensures the collection and maintenance of Programs’ documents and records for statistical purposes in line with the confidentiality/privacy policy of the organization.

  • Maintains Program documentation for audits, information tracking, and decision support.

  • Researches and identifies new Research Programs and initiatives, as needed, and develops robust proposals to obtain funding/grants and requisite approvals for continuous delivery of services.

  • Keeps SAC up-to-date with the progress of Research programs and initiatives in support of the mandate of AJF.  

Budget Management:


  • Prepares and manages the annual budget for Research Programs and initiatives, as well as secures subsequent approvals.

  • Tracks approved Programs budget and ensures its complete adherence.

  • Reports any budget discrepancy to the Director and seeks further approvals/exceptions, as appropriate. 

Relationship Management:


  • Partners with the Marketing and Communications department to
    develop communication for launching and advertising the Programs in line with
    the mission of the organization.

  • Nurtures strong relationships with external institutions,universities, health care providers, and government organizations, etc. with the aim to build and develop partnerships with key stakeholders.

  • Collaborates with grant recipients and other stakeholders to obtain feedback on the effectiveness of the Programs for continuous improvement.

  • Attends community meetings, events, and conferences to enhance AJF research network to market Research Programs as well as identify and reach out to the International Peer reviewers (IPRs).

  • Serves as a single point of contact and advisor on Research matters with all stakeholders (i.e., management & employees, researchers, scientists and subject-matter-experts (SMEs), etc.) in line with the guidelines of the organization.

    Innovation:




  • Researches and seeks innovative opportunities to launch new Programs and initiatives in support of the mission of the organization.




  • Spearheads innovative Research projects and cross-functional activities to support the organizational mandate.


    Policies and Processes:




  • Supports the Director to develop and implement policies,systems and processes in line with the evolving needs of the organization.




  • Fully adheres with related policies and processes to ensure that the Research Programs and Initiatives are in line with the
    compliance framework of the organization.


     


    Meetings Facilitation:




  • Schedules, coordinates and facilitates SAC meetings to provide progress update and seek the requisite approvals. This includes preparing draft agenda, sharing documents with SAC prior to the meeting, recording
    minutes, and following-up on action items.




  • Closely follows-up on Research programs with stakeholders to ensure activities are completed within the approved timelines and policy framework. Stakeholders include grant recipients, researchers, scientists, IPRs, SMEs, SAC, etc.


     


    Data Analytics and Reporting:




  • Prepares periodic reports and statistics on the performance
    and progress of Research programs and initiatives in line with the Research mandate.




  • Actively maintains Research operations database to ensure that ongoing activities are recorded in an accurate and timely fashion.




  • Designs new reports, conducts data analyses and presents Research Information, as needed by the Director, to fulfill the reporting needs of the senior management.


     


    Other Accountabilities:




  • Works closely with the Strategy & Programs team to collaborate and support on a variety of departmental programs and initiatives
    in line with the mission, vision and goals of AJF.




  • Works closely with the AJF team to prepare periodic reports and statistics to assess and demonstrate the performance of the
    Research Programs and initiatives.




  • Supports the Director with the development & implementation of AJF Research strategy and policies in line with the mandate of AJF.
