JOB PURPOSE
To complete refined credit analysis and risk evaluation by reviewing; managing and approving Corporate Credit proposals for an assigned credit portfolio to maintain quality of the bank’s assets
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Credit Risk Evaluation: Provide an ‘all in’ risk assessment in accordance with ADCB (Uniform Credit Culture) principles for a designated portfolio and recommend/approve/rework and/or reject depending on DLA of a credit proposal based on the merits of the case to ensure a sound loan portfolio loan quality; minimise loan loses and maximise return on investment
Credit Assessment Quality: Ensure credit assessments and new assets booked maintain or improve the average rating of the portfolio and risk adjusted return on capital (RAROC) to maintain quality of the bank’s assets
Portfolio Management and Control: Monitor and manage assigned portfolio to ensure average credit rating/RAROC does not deteriorate
Capital Implications and Risk Weighted Assets: Review the categorisation of capital implications in risk assessment notes associated with each type of asset class to ensure capital adequacy is accurately calculated
Legal Risk: Review proposals to ensure these are accurately legally structured in line with local and international standard documentation (such as LMA and ISDA) in order to minimise loss for the bank
Macro-Economic Environment: Review loan proposals in the context of the prevailing macro-economic environment in order to reduce the banks’ exposure to higher risk economic segments
Risk Systems: Review the input/capture different asset types accurately in the bank’s core banking systems to enable accurate reporting
Project Management: Participate in risk related projects in order to ensure implemented in a manner which supports the risk management framework for the bank
People Management: Manage self and team in line with ADCB’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own and employee contribution to business performance Organise and supervise the activities and work of the team to ensure that targets and objectives are achieved and the business plan is delivered in line with the required policies, processes, procedures and systems
Policies, Processes, Systems and Procedures: Implement approved departmental policies, processes and procedures, and ensure employee adherence so that work is carried out to the required standard while delivering the required standards of service to customers and stakeholders
Continuous Improvement: Manage and motivate the team to ensure they contribute to, and participate in, the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the bank’s standards
Customer Service: Demonstrate Our Promise and apply the ADCB Service Standards to deliver the bank’s required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions
