The Arts Administration Internship provides an opportunity to gain experience and develop skills to start a career in the field of contemporary art. To be successful in this role you need to be a people-oriented person who can share information about our exhibitions and events with visitors, have a curiosity for contemporary art and be a proactive team player. The role involves administrative duties and assistance in a variety of tasks related to the curatorial, operational, and communications functions of the Foundation that offer a broad view and variety of experiences.

Responsibilites include:
Managing Front-of-House:
• Greeting visitors, offering information about the exhibition and answering questions about Ishara and the programme
• Monitoring the gallery space with assistance from office staff, making sure the artwork is safe
at all times
• Answering phone calls and redirecting calls as necessary, taking and passing on messages in a timely and efficient manner, directing vendors and suppliers to the office staff as necessary
• Recording the number of visitors in a daily log and sharing the log with management on a regular basis
Administrative duties
• Basic filing and cataloguing of works
• Management of mailing lists and event invitations
• Assistance with programme and events
• Working closely with the curatorial team to catalogue works, prepare exhibition materials and carry out condition checks during exhibition preparation and installation
• Liaise with suppliers and producers as instructed by curatorial team
External Communications
• Working closely with PR and Communications Manager to develop content for social media feeds
• Assist with updates to the Ishara website
• Photographing and documenting exhibitions and events and ‘behind the scenes’ feeds for social media channels
• Writing short texts to promote exhibitions and events
